Quote of my day:
"Guard well within yourself that treasure, kindness. Know how to give without hesitation, how to lose without regret, how to acquire without meanness." -George Sand
Today's been a pretty slow day for me. Since I've had this week as a short break, I've had the opportunity to take things at a much calmer pace than usual. And, I have to admit that it feels really nice. I can get very antsy very quickly, and my preferred pace in life is usually full steam ahead. But lately, it feels like I've been going full steam ahead on things that I'm really not excited to be doing, and so taking a step back from it all can feel like a breath of fresh air.
Since today was one of those break days for me, I had time to just play around the backyard with Stella (that dog would play tug of war and chase all day every day if we let her). I also got to go and meet my husband at his work, which is always really nice too to get to see one another during the day.
To play with my puppy and head out for lunch, I wore a linen plaid button down top (old) and a navy scuba material fit and flare skirt (recently from Charlotte Russe). I paired the outfit with one of my favorite classic pointed toe heels from Payless. These shoes are one of my favorites for pulling things together pretty quickly but still being really comfortable--the heels are high enough that they're super easy to walk around in and don't pinch anywhere on your feet. They're definitely not the most glamorous heels, but they're definitely cute and functional.
I also finally figured out how to take pictures outside of our guest room, so that's exciting for me too-- baby steps. ;)
xo,
Shannon
