Today I have to run around town for a few different meetings, so I wanted to wear something that felt put together, but was mostly just comfy! This week is the first time I've had a real pause/break from school/work in a very long time, and it feels weird for me not to feel like there's some impending deadline or project that I need to get done as quickly as possible. Starting next week, I'm back to being focused on my summer work, but I'm taking this time to really take stock of how everything is going in my life right now when it comes to my career. I'm in my early twenties and I'm a military spouse...and figuring out exactly which directions I want to take professionally, what makes me feel fulfilled in a career, and how to accomplish that with the challenges of a military family has been hard for me.
The outfit I picked out today was a new peasant top that I found on sale at Old Navy recently (I really just love peasant tops...they seem like the kind of blouses made to be daydreamed in), straight legged pants from Kohls, gold heels from Forever21, and a teal crossbody bag I found at Ross.
I really don't have a large purse collection...they're one of the accessories I neglect the most. Probably because I'm usually just grabbing my wallet and getting on the go, or throwing what I need into a backpack/briefcase/laptop bag that I'm taking to work or school. I think I've ended up with a lot of crossbody bags just because I've picked them up while traveling. I like them because they're so light and easy to tote around (and easy to just hop on a bike to ride along with you), and if you're traveling/in a big city they stay really close to your body, so they're hard to pickpocket.
Maybe tomorrow I'll try taking pictures somewhere other than the guest room! One of my favorite qualities about my husband is how handy he is around the house...something I didn't even know about him when we got married. But he can make/fix anything, and is really patient with me if I want to learn how to do something too. I think I'll try to have him teach me how to make an easy stand for my tablet so I can take better pictures (and maybe get some with my adorable puppy Stella in them too!).
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
xo,
Shannon
